‘Picnic’ a tiny poem I wrote for Manchester Review‘s 2014 micropoem competition (it came second) has received a delicious write-up in Hazel Burke’s poetry column at Standard Issue magazine.
The best treats come as surprises. Do have a read of Hazel’s column and dive into Standard Issue.
Congrats! A great use of characters.

Subject: Wasps’ Nest
Hi S***,
Wasps are busily building a nest in a corner close to the back parking opposite the block A entrance. Got any PiffPaff?
This recent email of mine remined me of your micro poem.

Ha! Hope the wasps clear off soon. I was thinking of ants rather than wasps but they could equally be bees…… or, indeed, UK citizens…. Thanks for reading and commenting ! 🙂 xx
