I update my ‘News’ page regularly but I realise that this won’t show up if you follow this blog via email or via WordPress. So, yes, there is some happy personal news over there that I would like to share with you! I won First Prize in the Buzzwords Poetry Competition with my poem The Domestic Life of Young Film Lovers, and *drumroll* Nine Arches Press is going to publish my first full collection of poetry, What Are You After?, in June 2018.
There is still work to do on my poems and I’m looking forward to my first meeting with Editor Jane Commane before the end of the year. I feel I already know her as we’ve been corresponding for years, ever since I first sent poems to Under the Radar magazine, but this will be the first time we’ll meet in real life.
I feel so lucky to be joining Nine Arches Press in the year that they became an Arts Council Portfolio organisation and it was announced Jacqueline Saphra’s collection All My Mad Mothers has been shortlisted for the T S Eliot Prize.
My Buzzwords poem will be online soon and I think it will be going in my book. I’ll add the link as soon as it’s available.
Congratulations Josephine. Well deserved.
