I’ve already shared the following poem excerpts on Instagram and Facebook. They are lines from poems-in-progress written by members of Trowbridge Stanza, the monthly poetry group I’m part of that meets at Drawing Projects UK, a gallery, café, studio and art space in Trowbridge, Wiltshire.
Our group met in person in February, for the first time in two years, to view and talk about drawings selected for the 2021 Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize which was on show at Drawing Projects. At our March meeting, some of us shared poems we’d begun to write in response to the drawings. In this post, I’ve included a few lines from each poem and photographed them alongside the related image in 2021 Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize catalogue. Click into the images to see the drawings and read the poem extracts.

For those of you in or near Dundee, the drawings from TBW Drawing Prize are on show at the Cooper Gallery, March 19 – April 17 – worth a visit!
