News just in from the Live Canon Children’s Poetry Competition – St Gregory’s Catholic College, Bath, where I work as Writer in Residence, has won the Schools’ Prize for an outstanding set of entries from one school, and six of the young writers I’ve been working with will see their poems published in this year’s Prizewinners’ Anthology!  I am thrilled that the young people’s hard work has been recognised in this way and I cannot wait to see their published poems.

Nine Arches Press will publish my first full collection of poetry What Are You After? in June 2018.  I feel incredibly lucky that I will be joining an amazing list of poets and working with talented poet and editor Jane Commane.

The next meeting of Trowbridge Poetry Society Stanza is at Drawing Projects UK, Trowbridge (in Bridge House, next to Trowbridge train station)  on Saturday, 7 April 2018, 2 – 4pm when Dawn Gorman and Shauna Darling will be guest readers.  Do come along and bring some poems for the open-mic. More details here.

I really enjoyed reading with Rosie Jackson at the Frome Party Cafe on Monday, 12th February.  A wonderful set from Rosie and terrific poems at the open-mic.  Thanks so much to organiser, playwright and Burning Eye Books poet Crysse Morrison for inviting me to read.

There is a wonderful film of Nichole Bird reading the poem here.
