News from the Live Canon Children’s Poetry Competition – St Gregory’s Catholic College, Bath, where I work as Writer in Residence, has won the Schools’ Prize for an outstanding set of entries from one school, and six of the young writers I’ve been working with have poems published in this year’s Prizewinners’ Anthology!  I am thrilled that the young people’s hard work has been recognised in this way.  I wrote this blog post about Live Canon’s show when some of the poems were performed on stage (with a few pictures and video snippets of some of the poems).

I really enjoyed reading with Rosie Jackson at the Frome Party Cafe on Monday, 12th February.  A wonderful set from Rosie and terrific poems at the open-mic.  Thanks so much to organiser, playwright and Burning Eye Books poet Crysse Morrison for inviting me to read.

I was very happy to be shortlisted in the Live Canon Poetry Competition.  My poem Do you remember those wild, out of control, pre-Referendum days? is published in the Live Canon Anthology and was performed on stage at the Greenwich Theatre on Sunday, 10th September.  A thrilling afternoon of poetry performed by the fantastic Live Canon Ensemble. There is a wonderful film of Nichole Bird reading the poem here.
