Micropoem at Manchester Review

How lovely to find out on Thursday afternoon that my tweet-sized poem ‘Picnic’ has come 2nd in #micropoem14, a Twitter poetry competition run by the Centre for New Writing, and the School of Arts, Languages and Cultures, at the University of Manchester.

To take part in this year’s competition, judged by John McAuliffe, Janet Rogerson and Eleanor Ward, entrants had to tweet a poem on the theme of ‘English Summer’ (using the #micropoem14 hashtag) during the week 7th July until 5pm on Monday 14th July.

So I’m delighted to be among the winners (I think I’ve won a signed copy of a Jeanette Winterson book) and to be published on the excellent online arts journal The Manchester Review, along with the other winning poems.

One in particular has just spoken in public for the first time
    They like you
πŸ™‚ and that adults giggle too.
